About the Role

The Head of Enterprise is a senior role within the Economic Development Directorate of South Dublin County Council. The successful candidate will lead a team charged with delivering a high standard quality system of co-ordinated and cohesive state support to the micro and small business sector.

This is a key position within the Local Enterprise Office structure of the Council. The successful candidate will play an important role in the development and implementation of the Local Enterprise Development Plan to support enterprise, entrepreneurship and job creation at a local level and ensuring that the Local Enterprise Office serves as a “First Stop Shop” to provide services to start, grow and develop micro and small business throughout the County.

Main Duties of the Job

Support enterprise at local level with reference to national Government policy objectives and commitments on enterprise, entrepreneurship and job creation.

Deliver on core enterprise related targets.

Manage the day to day operations of the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) with particular reference to meeting the commitments set out in the Service Level Agreement between Enterprise Ireland and South Dublin County Council and the agreed protocols with Government departments and State Agencies; including implementing new systems and processes designed to improve workflows and efficiency.

Oversee the preparation and implementation of the South Dublin Local Enterprise Development Plan.

Support the delivery of national and regional LEO initiatives and programmes as part of the national LEO Network.
