The Department of Health currently has a vacancy for the Head of Patient Safety Surveillance and Performance (Principal Officer level) in its National Patient Safety Office (NPSO). Main Duties of the Job

Reporting to the Director of the National Patient Safety Office, the Head of Patient Safety Surveillance and Performance will work effectively with other Principal Officers and staff across the NPSO, the Department and the wider health services in maximising the NPSO’s effectiveness in delivering on its patient safety objectives and work programmes. They will also lead the Department in supporting the HSE’s purpose to provide public health and social care services to everyone living in the country by promoting health, preventing illness, and delivering high-quality care safely across all stages of life.

The Department provides leadership and policy direction for the health sector in order to improve health outcomes and, through effective performance oversight, ensure accountable and high quality, safe health service delivery.
