About the Role
Westcare Homecare is recruiting Healthcare Assistants across County Leitrim and surrounding areas, offering up to €21.50 per hour, paid mileage, and flexible working hours. This is a permanent role suited to experienced carers and to those new to care — including candidates coming from retail, hospitality, or family caring backgrounds — with paid training provided from day one.
Role Overview
As a Healthcare Assistant with Westcare Homecare, you will provide one-to-one care to clients in their own homes, helping them live safely and independently in their local communities. The role offers genuine flexibility, work close to home, and the support of an established care team with an open-door policy. Ongoing learning and clear career progression are built into the role, making it a strong starting point for a long-term career in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, including washing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support client mobility and independence
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Monitor client wellbeing and report any concerns
- Help maintain a safe, comfortable home environment
Requirements
- Full Irish driving licence and access to a car
- QQI Level 5 qualification (or equivalent)
- A caring, reliable, and positive attitude
- Previous care experience is an advantage but not essential — full paid training is provided
Salary & Benefits
