About the Role

The Civil Service is now recruiting for suitably qualified and committed individuals to take up the role of Higher Executive Officer (HEO). HEOs will play a critical role in leading teams, managing delivery and supporting departmental and cross‑government priorities.

Main Duties of the Job

Successful candidates will provide strong team leadership, offer direction, motivation and support to drive high performance and continuous improvement. They will also build productive working relationships with colleagues, senior management and external stakeholders to enable effective cross-functional delivery. The role will also require HEOs to manage competing demands effectively, planning and prioritising in dynamic environments to meet tight deadlines.

Location: Wicklow

Indicative salary: €71,807–€80,581 per year (HSE Service national pay scale, effective Jun 2026).
