About the Role
In operation since 1879, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is a 200-bed facility providing specialist care for people with a wide range of needs from rehabilitation to end-of-life care in Harold’s Cross Hospice, Blackrock Hospice and Wicklow Hospice. The Director of Human Resources & Training will lead the HR function, ensuring it is fit for purpose, providing an excellent, proactive, efficient service to stakeholders across all aspects of the Human Resources and Organisational Development agenda while acknowledging the ethos and values of the organisation. The post holder will define and deliver a People Strategy to support our culture and performance across the organisation. Thus, ensuring that the organisation has the resources, capability (both leadership and functional) and structures to enable it to effectively deliver agreed levels of performance. The post holder will attend meetings as required and will advise Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services through the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Management on related matters. The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with other Department Managers both on the overall management of the Hospice and the implementation and development of Hospice policy in related areas.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
- Hold a professional relevant degree level qualification in Human Resources or related discipline
- Relevant post graduate qualification
- CIPD Membership
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 year’s senior level managerial/leadership experience within the last 5 years
- Substantial Human Resources experience
- Experience of strategic plan development and implementation
- Excellent knowledge of financial planning and budgetary procedures
- Strong knowledge of the health sector
- Excellent knowledge of the voluntary sector
Desirable Requirements
Qualifications:
- Management Training
- A current full driver’s license and access to a car
Experience:
- Experience in policy and procedure development
