Role Overview

As a Junior IT Technician, you will provide first-line technical support across schools and educational centres, ensuring that hardware, software and classroom technology operate efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software and basic network issues.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of desktop computers, laptops and classroom technology.
  • Support staff and students with day-to-day IT queries.
  • Assist with system updates, backups and basic cybersecurity measures.
  • Work alongside senior ICT staff on technology projects and infrastructure upgrades.

Requirements

  • Relevant IT qualification or equivalent experience, such as a Diploma, Certificate or coursework in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, classroom technology or basic networking is desirable.

Salary & Benefits

From €17.50 per hour.

This position is based in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, supporting educational facilities through on-site IT services in a collaborative and supportive working environment.
