About the Role
The Maintenance Craftsman Technician Carpenter will contribute to the effective maintenance and operation of healthcare buildings and associated systems. The successful candidates will apply practical trade expertise to help maintain safe, reliable and functional environments for patients, service users, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and craft duties associated with buildings and facilities in a healthcare environment.
- Support the safe and effective operation of building systems relevant to the role.
- Identify maintenance requirements and contribute to timely repairs and preventative maintenance work.
- Work effectively within healthcare facilities where safety, reliability and continuity of services are essential.
- Follow applicable health and safety procedures, work practices and service requirements.
- Operate HSE-owned vehicles where required as part of the duties of the post.
Requirements
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience working in industrial or domestic-type buildings and/or a healthcare environment, as relevant to the role.
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience with building systems as applied to the healthcare environment, as relevant to the role.
- Have successfully completed the SOLAS Safe Pass Health and Safety Awareness Training Programme or an equivalent approved training programme in line with service need.
- As the role may involve driving HSE-owned vehicles, the successful candidate is required to hold a full clean Category B driving licence.
Salary & Benefits
€42,486 – €48,853 per annum (HSE Maintenance Craftsman/Technician Paypath scale, 11-point scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
