About the Role

Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations. The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 16,000 people.

Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and to support this ambitious growth, we are seeking to onboard a Motion Design Lead, to join our team.

This role will form part of the Applegreen Creative team and reports to the Group Creative Director. The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit into Applegreen seamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role. Working as part of our in-house creative team, you'll create compelling motion content across multiple brands, markets and channels. From large format digital screens and campaign assets to social content, product videos, internal communications and event content, you'll help bring our brands to life through motion.

This is an opportunity to define how motion is used across Applegreen's growing portfolio of brands in Ireland, the UK and the US. You'll work alongside a small creative team to deliver high quality creative that is strategically informed, commercially effective and beautifully crafted.

We're looking for someone who enjoys making ideas move. Someone who is curious, proactive and constantly looking for better ways to tell stories, solve problems and improve the quality of creative output.

Requirements

The Candidate should have the following:

  • 7 to 10 years' experience creating high quality motion design and video content.
  • An outstanding portfolio demonstrating strong storytelling, animation and craft.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro and the wider Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender or similar 3D tools is an advantage.
  • Strong video editing skills with an excellent eye for pacing, sound, composition and detail.
  • Confidence working across multiple formats, channels and audiences.
  • Experience using AI-powered creative tools to enhance content creation and production workflows.
  • The ability to balance creativity with commercial objectives and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to suggest ideas, challenge thinking and identify opportunities.
