We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Occupational Therapist Senior Practice Tutor to join our team in Cork Services.

Contract Type: Permanent, 35 hours per week.

Salary: €62,072 to €73,477 pro rata per annum.

The practice tutor will have responsibility to coordinate and develop the capacity and quality of practice education within adults and children disabilities services. It is envisaged that the post holder will set up processes and systems to ensure increased and sustained capacity for Practice education placements in Disability services in Cork and Kerry. They will support both students and practice educators. The Practice Tutor will provide structured support to students and Practice Educators, ensuring effective supervision, robust assessment processes and positive placement experiences. The role acts as a key link between clinical teams and university partners, promoting high standards of education, supporting workforce development, and contributing to governance and service improvement initiatives related to practice education.

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register with CORU at time of application and provide proof of statutory registration before a contract of employment can be issued
  • Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • On Appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU
  • Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland
  • Full clean Drivers Licence with access to own transport
  • Eligible to work in the State
  • Have experience and/interest in working with students and provision and/or co-ordination of practice placements

Desirable Criteria:

  • The post holder will have experience working in children and/or adults’ disability services.
