About the Role
The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is seeking an Optometrist to join the Rare Eye Disease Service in Dublin. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of €65,197–€76,767 per year. The closing date for applications is 25 Sept 2026.
The Optometrist will be a vital part of the eye care team, providing comprehensive and high-quality eye care services to patients. Key responsibilities include conducting primary ocular examinations, detecting primary ophthalmic pathology, and managing or directing patients for appropriate treatment. The role involves working within the Ocular Genetics / Rare Eye Disease teams, delivering a coordinated approach to rare eye disease patient care. The Optometrist will support the rare eye disease service through electrodiagnostic testing, specialist clinics, low vision support, and clinical trial support.
