Outreach/Home Support Manager in County Kerry

About the Role

Kerry Parents and Friends Association is seeking a compassionate and proactive Outreach/Home Support Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of tailored support services that empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to live independently and thrive within their communities.

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

• Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU and hold a minimum Level 7 degree in Social Care (Level 8 desirable) OR
• Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary) minimum Level 7 degree (Level 8 desirable) OR
• Be registered as a nurse in the General, Intellectual Disability or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland).
• Hold a formal management qualification in health or social care (minimum Level 6, e.g., Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Leadership or Management); and
• At least three years’ management or supervisory experience in the sector, which must include the supervision of staff and volunteers.
• Demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
• Have a suitable standard of professional attainments.
• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office).
• Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems.
• An excellent knowledge of statutory regulations, standards, the role of a person in charge and Health Act 2007.
• Good understanding of HR processes including grievances, disciplinaries, people management, communication and engagement.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility.
• A proven ability to lead and support teams.
• Experience of commitment to promoting community presence and ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
• Must have experience of using alternative communication methods.
• Hold a full driver’s licence, have proven driving experience and be willing to drive Association vehicles. When using own vehicle for work purposes, the successful applicant must have access to a roadworthy vehicle with valid business insurance, or be able to obtain insurance for business use.
• Applicants must have the necessary authorisation to work in Ireland and will be asked to provide supporting documentation during the recruitment process.

Details

Location: Community based throughout Kerry

Contract: Fixed Term, Full-Time (39 hrs per week)

Roster: Mon - Thurs: 09:00 - 17:30 / Fri: 09:00 - 16:30

Salary: Indicative HSE pay scale for this grade: €60,916–€79,189 per year
