Details

Letterkenny University Hospital is an acute general and maternity hospital delivering a patient-centred, quality-driven focused service and a wide range of diagnostic and support services. LUH is a teaching hospital with links to the University of Galway, the Royal College of Surgeons, The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and the Atlantic Technological University. Undergraduate Nurse, Midwifery, and AHP training and clinical placements are also provided at the hospital along with post graduate Medical and Nursing education.

The West and North West region provides acute and specialist hospital and community services to the West and North West of Ireland – counties Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal and adjoining counties.

The region comprises of 7 hospitals across 8 sites:

  • Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH)
  • Mayo University Hospital (MUH)
  • Portiuncula University Hospital (PUH)
  • Roscommon University Hospital (RUH)
  • Sligo University Hospital (SUH) incorporating Our Lady’s Hospital Manorhamilton (OLHM)
  • Galway University Hospitals (GUH) incorporating University Hospital Galway (UHG) and Merlin Park University Hospital
