Peamount Healthcare is an independent voluntary organisation that operates in partnership with the HSE Health Region, Dublin and Midlands to provide a range of health and social care services. The hospital provides consultant led, multidisciplinary, specialist rehabilitation services to patients at the right time and in the right place, which improve patient outcomes. Peamount Healthcare provides specialist rehabilitation in Neurology, Age-Related, Respiratory and Rheumatology. The services provided also include continuing care services for the older person, adults with neurological disabilities and individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Purpose of the post: To deliver an effective rehabilitation portering service, ensuring the safe, efficient transportation and support of patients, equipment, and resources required for the delivery of high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation services. Work under the guidance of the Director of Rehabilitation, nominated supervisor(s) and Health and Social Care Professionals, demonstrating initiative, organisational skills, flexibility and effective time management in carrying out a variety of duties to support the smooth and efficient operation of rehabilitation programmes. As this is a newly established role, responsibilities may evolve in line with service requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in relevant training and development opportunities, including those relating to the safe use, transportation, and management of rehabilitation equipment, to support the effective delivery of the role. This job description will be reviewed annually as part of the appraisal process and may be revised to reflect the operational and strategic needs of the Rehabilitation Service and the wider organisation.

Hours of Work: 39 Hours – the allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with needs of service
Location of Post: Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin
Working Model: Fully Onsite
Annual Leave: As per Health Service Executive (HSE)
Reporting Relationship: Catherine Slattery, Director of Rehabilitation
