About the Role
Marymount University Hospital & Hospice seeks a Practitioner Spiritual & Psychological Care to provide emotional and spiritual support to palliative care patients, their families, and staff. The role involves contributing to multidisciplinary meetings, conducting bereavement ceremonies, and offering emotional support and professional counseling. The successful candidate will also support staff during periods of work-related stress or personal difficulty. This is a part-time position consisting of 28 hours per week on a 2-year fixed term contract.
Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- Have successfully completed Clinical Pastoral Education (minimum of three units); or
- Hold a professionally recognised pastoral care or chaplaincy qualification; or
- Hold an accredited counselling or psychotherapy qualification.
Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of two years’ post-qualification professional experience, possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and suitability for the role, demonstrate excellent teamwork skills, and have a well-developed understanding of the spiritual, religious, ethical, and psychological issues experienced by patients with life-limiting illness and their families.
