About the Role

St. Michael’s House provides a comprehensive range of services and supports to men, women, and children with disabilities and their families in 170 locations in the greater Dublin Area. It supports 1,953 people and this has an impact on thousands of family members. St. Michael’s House is a company funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE), TUSLA, and the Department of Education and Skills.

St. Michael’s House supports include; Residential supports and Independent living, Clinical supports, Day supports, Schools, Respite supports and Vocational training services.

We currently have vacancies for a part-time, permanent position in our Preschool Support Service. Please note the service does not operate in July and August. This service assists children with additional needs to attend early year’s education settings by providing a support worker to work within the child’s local preschool. Preschool support workers support each child to achieve their potential while participating in the preschool programme. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, have excellent knowledge of child development and be able to advocate for the child. Ongoing, In-service training is provided, with support from the child’s CDNT and the Preschool support service coordinating team.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess: Minimum of QQI level 5 in Childcare (full 8 modules) OR Montessori teaching qualification, 3 years experience working in an Early Years education / childcare setting with Children aged 3 to 6 years.

Desirable Criteria: QQI Level 6 in childcare or qualification in Early years education, Full clean driver licence, Additional Training relevant to the position ie Lámh, Hanen and Positive behaviour support.
