About the Role
HSE Mid West is recruiting a Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention, Grade VII, based in Limerick. This senior management and administration role will contribute to suicide prevention work across the Mid West region, supporting strategic coordination, partnership working and the development of effective responses to suicide prevention priorities.
Role Overview
The Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention will work within the HSE Mid West Office for Suicide Prevention and contribute to the coordination and development of suicide prevention activity across Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary. The role offers an opportunity to support regional planning, collaboration and service development in an area of significant public health importance.
Working across health services and with relevant community and statutory partners, the successful candidate will support the delivery of coordinated suicide prevention initiatives and contribute to effective regional responses that promote mental health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination and implementation of suicide prevention activity across the HSE Mid West region.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with health services, statutory agencies, community organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic planning, programme development and service improvement in suicide prevention.
- Support collaborative approaches to mental health promotion, suicide prevention and related regional priorities.
- Coordinate relevant projects, initiatives and work programmes within the remit of the HSE Mid West Office for Suicide Prevention.
- Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation activities associated with suicide prevention programmes and regional priorities.
- Provide senior administrative and management support appropriate to a Grade VII role.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the eligibility, qualification and experience requirements set out in the official campaign documentation. Candidates should demonstrate the management, organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities required for a senior Grade VII role, together with the ability to work collaboratively across services and organisations.
This competition is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Details
Salary: €61,219 – €74,251 per annum (HSE Grade VII Clerical scale, with two long service increments of €76,912 and €79,583 where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. For part-time appointments, salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis according to contracted hours worked.
