About the Role
Integrated Healthcare Area Donegal provides a broad range of services which includes Primary Care, Social Inclusion, Social Care, Mental Health and Health & Wellbeing Services. These services are delivered through the HSE and its funded agencies to people in local communities, as close as possible to people’s homes.
The HR Department is responsible for the delivery and implementation of a range of generalist HR services within IHA Donegal and the provision of advice and guidance on HR issues in order to support the IHA in the achievement of its business objectives.
HR provides support and guidance to all IHA Donegal staff and managers, to include matters relating but not exclusive to recruitment and selection, contracts, remuneration, grievances and other HR / Industrial Relation matters.
The HR Department for Donegal provides HR support to approximately 3,400 staff.
Requirements
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
- Have obtained a Professional Cookery award at minimum Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or equivalent maintained by the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
- Have obtained an equivalent qualification to (i) from another jurisdiction.
- Be currently employed as a Chef in the Irish Health Service.
- Have at least three years satisfactory experience in cooking for an institution or other establishment, catering for a large number of persons.
- Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and professional ability, for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Post specific requirements:
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in management of a kitchen which adheres to HACCP guidelines and Food Safety Standards as relevant to the role.
- Demonstrate the skill of managing groups of staff to achieve best performance for the team.
- It is recommended that the appointee have completed or are willing to undertake the following courses: Food Safety Level 1& 2, Health & Safety Course, Introductory Course in Supervision.
