About the Role
The Senior Executive Engineer will lead teams and provide technical and managerial support across all local authority service areas. They will liaise with external agencies, support the democratic process, and report to the appropriate line manager. The role involves managing capital projects, services, and staff, and working closely with elected Councillors to deliver services and implement local policy decisions.
Main Duties of the Job
- Supervise, control, and carry out engineering/ancillary services, including the preparation and management of work programmes.
- Identify infrastructural needs and oversee the design and delivery of infrastructural projects, including the procurement and management of consultants and contractors.
- Manage programme deliverables of in-house teams and consultants.
- Manage staff performance and development.
- Manage budgets for capital works and service delivery within a budgetary control framework.
