Integrated Healthcare Area Sligo Leitrim is responsible for the delivery of Primary and Community-based Services to meet the needs of local communities. Community healthcare services are a broad range of services, which, are provided outside of the acute hospital system and include Primary Care, Social Care, Mental Health, and Health and Wellbeing Services. These services are delivered through the HSE and its funded agencies to people in local communities, as close as possible to people’s homes.

There is currently 1 permanent whole-time vacancy available. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

The Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service currently provides services and governance to:

• Adult Mental Health, Sligo University Hospital
• Adult Mental Health ADHD Team
• Adult Mental Health Intellectual Disability Team
• Child and Adolescent Mental Health Teams [2 Teams]
• Crisis Resolution Team
• Community Rehabilitation and Recovery Team (2 Supervised Residences, a number of group homes and 3 teams)
• General Adult Community Mental Health Teams (5 Teams)

The Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service Manager provides governance re the service level agreements and or funding applications for:

• Individual Placement Support - 2 Employment specialists under grant aid agreement with Leitrim Development Company
• Social Farming project under grant aid agreement with Leitrim Development Company.
• Sligo Sports Partnership under grant aid agreement.
• Funding applications for therapeutic programmes across the services.

Location of Post: Sligo Leitrim Mental Health Services

The post holder will report to the Integrated Service Lead.

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Mental Health Services, General Manager and other key Mental Health Service Managers including Consultants, Business Manager, and the Heads of Discipline for Mental Health Services, including Nursing, Social Work and Psychology. The post holder will be a member of and will participate fully in the area manager team and Quality and Risk and other governance meetings in relation to the Mental Health Commission.

The post holder will also work with and govern all Occupational Therapists/ Staff in the service.
