We are currently seeking applications for a lecturer to deliver our Social Care Studies diploma course. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator who is passionate about their field and committed to inspiring, supporting, and engaging students throughout their learning journey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social care practitioner or educator to contribute to the development of students through evidence-informed, engaging, and practice-focused teaching. The role involves equipping learners with the knowledge, skills, and critical understanding needed to explore key areas of social care practice.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Community Development, Youth and Community Work, Health and Social Care, or a closely related discipline (minimum requirement).
  • Relevant professional or academic experience within social care, social work, community services, family support, disability services, youth work, safeguarding, mental health, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary social care theories, research, policy, legislation, and evidence-informed approaches to practice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, digital literacy, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, student-centred approach, with a commitment to supporting learner engagement, inclusion, academic development, and preparation for professional practice.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in lecturing, teaching, facilitation, student support, or delivering professional training.
  • Membership of or accreditation with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
  • Current or recent professional practice-based research, or community experience within social care or a related field.

Location: Live online or In-Person (Sth Great Georges Street, Dublin 2)

Contract: Part-time

Duration: 10-week course

Teaching hours: 3 hours per week

Start Date: 14th September 2026 or 24th September 2026
