Enable Ireland provides services to over 13,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families from 43 locations in 14 counties. Covering childhood to adulthood our expert teams work with the individual and their family on a plan for each life stage. Our services for children and their families cover all aspects of a child's physical, educational, and social development from early infancy through adolescence. For adults we offer a range of services covering personal development, independent living, supported employment, social and leisure activities. We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Social Care Worker to join our team in Arklow, Wicklow (CHO6). We have part-time opportunities within our team in our Arklow Adult’s Day Service.
Contract Type: Permanent Post
Contract Hours: Part time hours considered up to a maximum of 30 per week.
Salary Scale: €39,160– €54,746 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 31 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.
To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in an Adult Day Service working with adults with physical and/or sensory or mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, within a quality framework. The post holder will support the individuals accessing the service with all aspects of their daily lives in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a professional registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
- Have a Schedule 3 qualification.
- Have a comparable qualification recognised by Social Care Workers Registration Board.
- Candidates must have the knowledge, skills, and suitability required to perform the role effectively.
- On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
- Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans.
- Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker.
- Experience of delivering personal care.
- Experience of assisting adults with medical needs/ administering medication.
- Experience of engaging in professional supervision.
- Possess a full, clean, manual driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working with adults and families with physical/sensory /intellectual disabilities.
- Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience relevant to the role.
