About the Role

Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We provide a wide range of services including Day, Residential and Respite supports to both children and adults in various locations across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary.

Avista is looking for candidates who are committed to supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, in a person-centred, community based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research.

Requirements

Essential:

• QQI Level 7 (or higher) qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent, the award must be considered eligible for CORU registration.
• Up to date CORU registration/ Confirmation of application for registration submitted to CORU
• Full clean Irish manual driving licence.
• Experience of working within the area of intellectual disability and those who have behaviours of concern.
• Proficiency in the English language.

Desirable:

• To adopt a holistic and person centre approach to your role to ensure people are supported to live their best lives and an awareness of New Directions.
• Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
• Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioral competencies of Avista competency framework.

Contract: Permanent, Full time, Part time, Relief

Salary: € 41,260 – 57,789* (LSI) *Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work.
