About the Role
Muiríosa Foundation supports individuals (and their families) with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live self-directed, connected and fulfilling lives. We are seeking to recruit a motivated, creative and energetic social care worker to join our day services team in Westmeath. The focus of the role will be to lead initiatives in supporting the individuals to live a life of their choosing and what matters most to them. The role will support the individuals to become connected and valued within their local community, to provide opportunities for new experiences and to assist each person in developing real and authentic relationships.
Requirements
- Relevant recognised Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care/Social Care Practice (minimum Level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications) which are CORU approved. Please note Social Care candidates must be registered with or in the process of registering with CORU.
- Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
- Experience of supporting individuals with a broad range of support needs including behaviours of concern.
- A valid Full Licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.
- Adaptable and open communication skills - written and verbal.
- Supportive, dependable team player.
- Experience in and commitment to supporting individuals to connect with their local community.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, logistical and IT skills.
