About the Role
As a Staff Midwife, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of midwifery care practised at St Luke’s General Hospital. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide holistic, person-centred care that promotes optimum independence and enhances the quality of life for the women, babies and families you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care to the highest professional and ethical standards.
- Provide holistic, person-centred care that supports the safety, dignity and wellbeing of women, babies and their families.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver a safe, effective and high-quality midwifery service.
- Practise across a variety of settings, including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
- Participate in rotation to the Integrated Community Midwifery Service as required.
Salary & Benefits
€37,788 – €54,412 per annum (HSE Staff Midwife / Registered Midwife scale, grade code 2143, a 12-point incremental scale, with a long-service increment of €56,032 where applicable). Figures are based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 February 2026.
Requirements
- Be registered in the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or be eligible for such registration.
- Have the clinical knowledge and professional ability to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the post.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safe, evidence-based practice and continuing professional development.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of midwifery settings.
