About the Role

Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We provide a wide range of services including Day, Residential and Respite supports to both children and adults in various locations across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary.

Avista is looking for candidates who are committed to supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, in a person-centred, community based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research.

Requirements

Essential:

  • NMBI Registration.
  • Be committed to pro-actively supporting individuals in all aspects of their daily lives and choices through a person-centred approach.
  • Have proven organisational, leadership, communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
  • Ability to network with external agencies, PHN’s, GP’s, acute hospitals etc.
  • Experience of working in an interdisciplinary /multidisciplinary team.
  • Have ability to manage a caseload and to work on own initiative.
  • Have a full clean manual Irish driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Proficiency in the English language.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in community setting providing supports to people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Have a good knowledge of HIQA Standards and the PCP framework.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Have experience of working with Behaviours of Concern and complex care needs and supporting mentoring staff teams in the delivery of high-quality care to the Supported Individuals.
  • Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework as set out in the job description

Details

Location: Limerick

Contract type(s) and tenure: Permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent part-time (18.5 hours per week), and relief contracts

Salary: Indicative HSE pay scale for this grade, €38,166–€56,592 per year, subject to relevant public sector experience and pro-rated for hours of work.
