About the Role
Corlann, formerly known as Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, is seeking Support Workers for their Bruach na Mara Adult Services in South Connemara, County Galway. The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in various aspects of daily living, promoting independence, and assisting with personal care. The Support Worker will work up to 39 hours per week on a 7 day/night duty roster, with flexibility required to meet service demands. The role reports to a Social Care Worker, Staff Nurse, Team Leader, or Team Manager depending on the location.
Requirements
Candidates must have a good general education, with a recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course being an advantage. A QQI Level 5 or higher is desirable. Essential requirements include a full clean manual driving licence, fluency in verbal and written English, and proficiency in IT skills. Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or complex needs is desirable but not essential, as induction and training will be provided. Flexibility, team-working skills, patience, and a sense of humour are also required.
