Support Worker in Roscommon

About the Role

Corlann, formerly known as Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, is seeking a Support Worker for their Hyde Services in Roscommon. The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in daily living, promoting independence, and assisting with personal care. The position is based in Roscommon Town, Kilteevan, Athleague, and Tremane/Rahara, with potential for staff allocation in residential, respite, day settings, or community services. The appointee will initially work in one area but may change locations based on service needs.

Requirements

Candidates must have a good general education, with a recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course being an advantage. A QQI Level 5 or higher is desirable. Essential requirements include a full clean manual driving licence, fluency in verbal and written English, and proficiency in IT skills. Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or complex needs is desirable but not essential. Flexibility, team-working skills, patience, and a sense of humour are also required.

Details

The role is permanent and part-time, with working hours of 55, 60, or 70 hours per fortnight. The position is based on a 14-day duty roster and may include weekend work, split duty hours, public holidays, evening/night duty, and sleep-ins.
