About the Role
Corlann, the new name for Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, is seeking a permanent part-time Support Worker for the Stepping Stone Child Development Centre in Tuam, Galway. The role involves supporting children aged 3 to 5 with intellectual disabilities and additional needs. The position is based in Tuam but may evolve into an outreach role. Reporting to an Educator/Team leader/Children’s Service Co-Ordinator, the role requires a QQI Level 5 qualification, six months of relevant experience, a full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B), and fluency in English. Basic IT skills, flexibility, communication, and teamwork are essential. The role involves 30 hours per fortnight based on a 5-day roster, with 23 days of annual leave pro rata. The salary is €34,881–€48,434 per year, with additional payments for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins, and night-duty. The position is pensionable and includes a nine-month probationary period.
Requirements
A QQI Level 5 minimum qualification appropriate to the field of intellectual disability is required. Candidates must have a minimum of six months experience working in a school, healthcare or childcare setting. Experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability and behaviours that challenge is desirable. A full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B) is required for this post. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, communication and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post. Basic IT skills are essential.
