About the Role
Muiríosa Foundation supports individuals (and their families) with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live self-directed, connected and fulfilling lives. Currently we employ over 1,700 staff and support people in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Longford, Kildare, Tipperary, Kilkenny. We provide supports through the Regional structure and the Person Centred Wing. Each region exercises a high level of devolved autonomy across all major operational functions including residential homes, day supports, respite. The Person Centred Wing offers the opportunity to have someone work with you who comes with an exclusively individualised focus on getting to know you and figuring out what needs to happen so that you get the opportunity to create the life you want for yourself. We are recruiting a Support Worker to work as part of a dynamic team supporting Individuals within the Laois Services. The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to support individuals with independent living skills, community inclusion and the promotion of their personal health and wellbeing. They will be given the opportunities and resources to encourage and motivate individuals in pursuing their personal interests and life goals. We are looking for a ambitious and enthusiastic Support Worker to support, encourage and motivate individuals to lead a fulfilling life.
Requirements
FETAC/QQI level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/Health Service Skills, or equivalent; Or willingness to undertake QQI Level 5 training.
Knowledge of New Directions Interim Standards and Person Centred Plans.
A valid Full Licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.
Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and/or supporting individuals with visual/hearing loss is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills an advantage.
Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.
Lone working/Individual Support with the ability to work as part of a team if required.
Department of Health Pay Scales apply to roles in the Muiríosa Foundation. This role will be remunerated on the Care Assistant June 2026 pay scale as per job description.
