The HSE South West health region is divided into 3 healthcare areas: HSE Cork North and East, HSE Kerry, and HSE Cork South and West. And will manage and deliver all public health and social care services in Cork and Kerry. More than 700,000 people live in this region.

HSE South West includes all hospital and community healthcare services in the region. This includes: South / South West Hospital Group and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare. The Department of Population and Public Health, HSE South West is also now aligned with this health region.

Services in the HSE South West health region

HSE Services that work together to provide healthcare services within this region include: acute hospitals, primary care services, community care, social care services, public and private providers, health and social care professionals, voluntary sector services, national ambulance services, Regional Executive Officer (REO).

Dr Andy Phillips is the REO of HSE South West. Andy joins the HSE from his previous role as Acting CEO of Safer Care Victoria, Australia. He has more than 30 years' experience in healthcare leadership in Wales, New Zealand and Australia, and is a qualified consultant clinical scientist. He is passionate about the importance kindness and compassion in healthcare and believes in making health and social care work together.
