This Senior Dietitian (Paediatrics Neonates) role at Galway University Hospital offers an exciting opportunity to deliver specialist nutritional care within paediatric and neonatal services. As part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, you will apply advanced evidence-based practice to support infants, children, and families in a complex acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist dietetic assessment and intervention for paediatric and neonatal patients.
- Deliver evidence-based nutritional care plans tailored to complex clinical needs.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
- Support clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
- Supervise and support junior dietetic staff and students where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Participate in audit, research, and continuous professional development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Dietetics and eligibility for CORU registration.
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience, including paediatrics and neonates.
- High level of clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice relevant to the role.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex caseload independently.
