Healthcare assistant (HCA) posts — including home support workers and multi-task attendants — are the HSE’s highest-volume recruitment stream, spanning acute hospitals, community care, older persons residential services and disability services.

Pay follows the national HCA / patient & client care scales, with premiums for nights, weekends and public holidays in most rostered posts. A QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (or willingness to complete it) is the standard requirement; many campaigns recruit to county-level panels.
