About the Role
Peamount Healthcare is an independent voluntary organisation operating in partnership with the HSE to provide specialist rehabilitation services in Neurology, Age-Related, Respiratory and Rheumatology, alongside continuing care for older persons, adults with neurological disabilities and individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 will provide clinical, professional, and managerial leadership within the assigned ward/unit/service. The role involves ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care while managing resources effectively and promoting continuous quality improvement. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting staff development and maintaining professional standards
- Contributing to organisational objectives in line with HSE policies, HIQA Standards, Sláintecare principles, and NMBI requirements
- Leading clinical and professional development within the nursing team, including in-service training and orientation of new staff in collaboration with the CNM2
- Ensuring patients receive individualised assessments, tailored care plans, and multidisciplinary involvement
- Coordinating, assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing patient care according to service standards
Requirements
- Registration in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
- At least 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 years in age-related rehabilitation nursing
- Previous management experience and a recognised qualification in management
- Evidence of consistent updating of clinical skills and knowledge
- Proven clinical and professional ability, leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Competent and confident IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email)
- Demonstrable coaching and development skills within clinical practice
- Fluent English
