About the Role

The National Screening Service (NSS) was established by the Minister for Health and Children in January 2007. It is part of the Health Service Executive (HSE) and provides a national service, delivering free population screening in hospital and community settings across the country.

As a Senior Radiographer (Mammographer), you will work within the BreastCheck programme, which offers free mammograms to women aged 50 to 69 every two years. Your role will involve producing high-quality mammograms, conducting quality assurance tests, ensuring equipment is operated safely, and delivering a high-quality, compassionate service to women attending BreastCheck.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Be registered as a Radiographer with CORU.
  • Have a minimum of three years' full-time post-qualification experience, or an aggregate equivalent.
  • Hold, or be undertaking, a recognised Postgraduate Qualification in Mammography, with completion expected within one year of appointment. BreastCheck will fully support participation in the programme through funding and study leave.

Important Note for International Candidates: Entry requirements for the MSc Mammography programme include evidence of English language proficiency at IELTS 7.0 overall, with no individual component below 6.5, or an equivalent qualification.
