About the Role
The Coombe Hospital is one of the largest providers of women and newborn healthcare in Ireland, caring for up to 10,000 pregnant women annually and admitting over 1,000 newborns to the Neonatal Intensive Care Centre. The hospital promotes normality in pregnancy and childbirth while providing specialised care in high-risk maternal and fetal medicine, newborn medicine, anaesthesia, and gynaecology.
This permanent position involves providing nursing care within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), supporting newborns and their families with a baby and family-centred approach.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse/Midwife/Children’s Nurse with NMBI registration at time of application and throughout employment
- Neonatal/Paediatric Nursing Experience
- Post Graduate Diploma in Neonatal Intensive Care or commitment to undertake same
- Understanding of HSE structures and Health Reforms
- Knowledge of BFHI, Traveller’s Strategy, Risk Management, Clinical Governance, National Neonatal Transport Team, Accreditation, and Service Planning
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, motivational and team-building skills
- Baby and family-centred ethos with sensitivity, dignity, respect, and privacy
- Awareness of needs of women with special needs, including non-English speaking, Travellers, literacy difficulties, and disability
