The Quality, Risk and Patient Safety Advisor role at University Hospital Kerry offers an opportunity to play a key role in enhancing patient safety and healthcare quality. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate risk management processes, including risk assessments and maintenance of risk registers
- Manage incidents and serious incidents, ensuring appropriate follow-up and reporting
- Support and implement quality improvement programmes across the hospital
- Oversee development and compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines
- Track and monitor implementation of recommendations from audits, reviews and investigations
- Facilitate implementation of national standards set by HIQA
- Support governance structures and complaints management processes
- Promote patient and service user involvement initiatives
- Assist with clinical audit activities and service improvement programmes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant third-level qualification in healthcare, management or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in quality, risk or patient safety within healthcare
- Strong knowledge of healthcare governance and regulatory standards
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and audit processes desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €60,613 – €78,795 (Grade VII pay scale, including incremental progression and LSIs where applicable).
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
