Corlann is the new name for Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. Corlann provides services to more than 6,000 people each year who have an intellectual disability, including those who also have autism. Funded under Section 38 of the Health Act, we remain deeply committed to a person-centred approach—one that honours each individual’s strengths, aspirations, and rights. Our aim is always to provide, as far as possible, personalised supports that empower people to identify and achieve their own life goals, and to live as valued, equal, and active citizens in their communities.

Clarin Adult Services provide a range of community-based services including day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. People are supported in various types of day settings – day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training and education and these can be in groups or individualised. People are supported in residential settings in their own homes in the community individually and in groups with different staffing support levels depending on their levels of disability. Our Services are person centred focusing on the needs and abilities of adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. Our focus going forward is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family and communities, supporting people to plan and direct their own service so that they can enjoy a life with a healthy balance of supports. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to form friendships.

Staff Nurses and Enhanced Staff Nurses fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for adults supported by the service in all aspects of their lives, focusing on each individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Staff Nurse and Enhanced Staff Nurse will assist people with the development of person-centred plans and critically, will support people to make informed choices and fulfil their potential.
