Care support Worker - Limerick in County Limerick

About the Role

Cheshire Ireland is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Care Support Worker to join the team at Rathfreedy Cheshire Services in County Limerick. The role is permanent and part-time, with a contract of 35 hours per week, and requires availability to work all shifts across a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week roster.

As a Care Support Worker, you will support adults with physical, sensory, and neurological disabilities to meet their physical, psychological, and social care needs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting people with all aspects of their daily lives in accordance with their individual needs and personal plans;
• Establishing and maintaining relationships based on respect, equality, and the promotion of rights and independence;
• Working in a manner consistent with Cheshire Ireland’s values, operating ethos, and standards;
• Providing individualised supports in a friendly, cooperative, and positive working environment within residential and community services.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Hold or be in the process of undertaking a minimum of QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or a minimum of QQI Level 6 Social Care or a Nursing qualification;
• Have experience in supporting people with disabilities;
• Hold or be working towards gaining a Full Manual Driving License and willingness to drive for work;
• Eligibility to work in Ireland is essential;
• Good standard of verbal and written English;
• Computer literate (experience with online care management systems an advantage);
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Personal integrity and trustworthiness;
• Positive attitude and desire for personal and professional development;
• Willingness to embrace change and commit to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Candidates who have experience but no qualifications may be hired if they are willing to undertake and complete QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support within 18 months of commencing the role.

All successful candidates will be subject to vetting by the Garda National Vetting Bureau and must provide security clearance for each jurisdiction in which they have resided outside the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland for 6 months or more from the date of their 16th birthday.
