About the Role
Avista is seeking a Staff Nurse Community to deliver person-centred, rights-based care to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Limerick. The role involves supporting individuals in their daily lives, managing healthcare needs, and collaborating with external agencies such as Public Health Nurses (PHNs), GPs, and acute hospitals.
The position is based in Community Residential Services, Limerick, and is a permanent full-time contract (37.5 hours per week).
Requirements
- NMBI Registration
- Full clean manual Irish driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Proficiency in the English language
- Proven organisational, leadership, communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills
- Ability to network with external agencies, PHNs, GP’s, acute hospitals etc.
- Experience of working in an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team
- Ability to manage a caseload and work on own initiative
- Ability to oversee and promote the healthcare needs of individuals living in CRS
Desirable:
- Experience working in a community setting providing supports to people with intellectual disabilities
- Good knowledge of HIQA Standards and the PCP framework
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work on own initiative
- Experience of working with Behaviours of Concern and complex care needs
